Oregon band earns award at contest
OREGON – The Oregon High School Marching Hawks took first place in Class 1 A at the Sept. 29 Geneseo Maple Leaf Classic.
The Hawks beat five other bands in the class. A total of 22 bands competed in four classes. OHS seniors Mark Schmidt and Ryan Starkey took second place in the drum major competition.
This is the first time OHS has won first place at a field competition. Band members will perform Friday at a home football game, and compete Oct. 21 at Sandwich High School.
