NELSON – Lee County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who they say attacked a Nelson woman in her home around 12:30 Tuesday morning, as she slept.

According to a news release sent this morning, the woman told deputies she was sleeping on the couch in her living room when the man broke in and tried to assault her. She fought him off and he fled on foot, she said.

The man is white, in his mid-40s with dark hair, balding on top and slicked back at the sides. He was wearing a sage green sweatsuit and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the detectives division, 815-284-6631.
