Jackson's wife unsure when congressman will return

CHICAGO (AP) — U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson's wife says her husband is seeing his doctor two to three times a week and his physician will decide when the congressman returns to work.

Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson told reporters Wednesday she believes Jackson will eventually be back. She says she didn't know if that would happen before or after the Nov. 6 election. Jackson says right now her husband knows he has "to follow doctors' orders."

The 47-year-old Chicago Democrat took a leave of absence about three months ago. It was later revealed he was hospitalized for severe depression and gastrointestinal problems.
