Glazier: ‘Will work hard to represent all residents’

Kurt Glazier, Sterling
Kurt Glazier, Sterling

My name is Kurt Glazier. I am seeking re-election to represent District 1 on the Whiteside County Board. I am about to complete my first term on the board and currently serve on the judiciary and landfill advisory committees.

I am running again because I desire to give back to the county that I’ve lived in and loved my entire life. I have found these first 2 years to be a rewarding and wonderful learning experience, and I desire to learn more.

I spent my younger years living in the rural area of Lyndon. I lived in Sterling for 18 years and now live just outside of Sterling. I feel citizens need countywide representation, and I have that in me to do this.

My 23 years of experience for working for the state of Illinois has given me the knowledge of how government operates. I was the Sterling-Rock Falls Jaycees president twice and held almost every office while I was a member. I chaired several projects and personally organized the fireworks for 8 years.

I am a former volunteer girls softball league coach, and I’ve been on the board of both the girls softball league and Sterling Youth Baseball. I’m currently the vice president of SYB.

I serve on the city of Sterling’s property maintenance code appeals board. I was a trustee for my church board, and established the budget for 8 years. I developed and executed contracts for work at our church while on the board. I am a deputy voter registrar and a precinct committeeman.

I recognize the importance of working with everyone, both on and off the board, to get things accomplished. If elected, I will work hard to represent all Whiteside County residents.

Your vote for me on Nov. 6 will be appreciated. Thank you.
