SAVANNA – Metform, a division of MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, has announced the groundbreaking of a new 100,000-square-foot precision component machining facility in Savanna.

Metform will begin construction adjacent to the existing Hot Form plant on state Route 84. Work is scheduled to begin sometime this month, with operations expected to start in the first quarter of 2013.

NICAM Construction of Freeport will lead the facility expansion project as general contractor.

The investment in the infrastructure, machinery and equipment is expected to top $30 million and create more than 60 new jobs in the next 2 years.

This project will support Metform’s business growth with the newest technology and create long-term manufacturing jobs in northwest Illinois.

MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions is a division of the MacLean-Fogg Co., and supplies fastener components, engineered components and linkage and suspension components to a wide range of industries.
