STERLING – Velda N. Zumdahl, 92, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at her home.

Velda was born June 8, 1920, in Chadwick, the daughter of Spurgeon S. and Beulah (Saylor) Harter. She married Emmert G. Zumdahl on March 29, 1941, in Chadwick. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2009. She was a lifelong member of Hope United Methodist Church in Chadwick, where she sang in the choir, led the youth group and taught Sunday school for many years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Steven (Susan) Zumdahl of Seymour, Mark (Margaret) Zumdahl of Sterling and David (Susan) Zumdahl of Byron; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
