Twin Cities Talk: Tweeting from the meeting

STERLING – Tonight, the Sterling City Council is scheduled to discuss and vote on a proposal to build a major housing complex on the city's west side.

Council members will decide whether to give the green light to developers. As always, I will be in attendance taking notes for my story.

But tonight, I'm also going to tweet from the meeting while the council discusses the issues. The idea is to update readers as the conversation is unfolding.

Fellow reporters have tweeted from major hearings, from the recent Crundwell auction of prized horses and other events. I'm going to give it a shot tonight.

You can follow the conversation at twitter.com/kiransood_svm. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Feel free to send questions my way. Let me know if you want to be a part of the conversation.

I am also hoping to use my Twitter handle for future news as it relates to Sterling and Rock Falls. Continue to check out the page for updates and my blog, Twin Cities Talk, which you can read at saukvalley.com/blogs/twincitiestalk/.

Sauk Valley Media reporter Kiran Sood covers government and happenings in Sterling and Rock Falls. She can be reached at ksood@saukvalley.com or at 800-798-4085, ext. 529.
