High school football: Sterling fends off Streator's best shot
Doggone close call
STERLING – If not for a couple of tide-turning plays, Streator might be celebrating an unlikely victory over Sterling.
Instead, the Bulldogs will have to settle for a moral victory after a 34-15 loss to the Golden Warriors at Roscoe Eades
Stadium on Friday night. Streator (0-6, 0-2 Northern
Illinois Big 12 West) lost its 24th straight game, while Sterling (4-2, 2-0) avoided the upset and kept pace with Geneseo and Ottawa in the conference race.
“We came out a little flat,” Sterling quarterback Tanner Morse said, “but we got the job done.”
