Norma J. Slothower

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS – Norma J. Slothower, neé Donovan, 79, of Fairview Heights, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

Norma was born Jan. 21, 1933, in Maytown. She attended Amboy schools and graduated from Amboy High School in 1950. Norma worked for the state of Illinois, Parkway Restaurant chain in Dixon, and Red Lobster in Fairview Heights, each respectively for many years. After retirement, she worked at Kmart, retiring in 1995. She married John E. Slothower on May 29, 1970. Norma was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful homemaker. 

Surviving are her loving husband, John; sons, Robert (Cindy) Logan of Franklin Grove and Mark L. Maronde of Dixon; daughters, Linda (Susie) Deets of Amboy and Lisa Buesking of Belleville; stepchildren, John R. (Sharon) Slothower of Raleigh, N.C., Deborah A. Slothower, Kathleen Boyle and James (Gina Chiappetta) Slothower, all of Belleville, Jeffrey (Catherine) Slothower of Rockford and Jesse (Angelita) Slothower of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Robin, Jennifer, Dana, Erin, Brandon, Joshua, Graig, Mitchell, Stacey, Kelly, Rebekah, Rachel, Ruth and Robert Jr.; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Hallie, Nikki, Jake, Joshua, Alexandria, Jesse Jr., Chelsie, Hilary, Jarod, Joanna, Justin and Mikayla; great-grandchildren, Shaylea, Micah, Sara, Mattyea, Remington, Samuel, Roslyn, Autumn, Rylee, Olivia, Gabriella, Rachel, Kaitlin and Hannah; great-great grandchild, Lydia; step-great-grandchildren, Alisha, Jordan, Madison, Kiandra, Morgan, Taylor, Bailey and Benjamin; dear aunt, Terry Farley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
