Jobless rates down from 2011
Also, fewer people looking for work in the area, IDES says
STERLING – Jobless rates decreased from July to August in four area counties, according to data released Thursday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
In Whiteside County, the unemployment rate in August was 9.7 percent, down from 10.1 percent in July and from 10.4 percent in August 2011.
In Lee County, the August rate was 9.2 percent, down from 9.5 percent in July and from 10.4 percent in August 2011.
