Celebrate Hope in Dixon Oct. 27

DIXON –­ A free Community Cancer Awareness Breakfast will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 221 W. Third St. There also will be a celebration of cancer survivors.

Jonny Imerman, an adult cancer survivor, and a CNN 2012 Hero, will share his story. He is the founder of Imerman Angels, a nonprofit organization that pairs cancer fighters and survivors with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer (a mentor angel).

Patients and survivors of cancer and their families are welcome.
