Trio of suspects in multiple thefts

Three are arrested at Walmart after coming back for seconds, police say

ROCHELLE – A trio caught on video surveillance stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Walmart on Sept. 12 were arrested Wednesday attempting to leave the same store, again with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, Rochelle police said in a news release.

Jesus O. Garcia, 33, Diana P. Garcia, 27, and Melisa Lazcano, 20, whose addresses were not provided in the release, are in Ogle County Jail, each charged with two counts of felony retail theft.

They also are suspects in similar thefts throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Their vehicle and a large amount of cash was seized, police said.

Police were called to the store at 311 E. state Route 38 for a theft in progress and made the arrests.

In their first trip to Walmart, they made off with thousands of dollars worth of DVDs, video games, laptops and a home security system, police said.
