Midway through the season, the Rock Falls defense is getting back to basics. After giving up 166 points the past 3 weeks, there's been renewed vigor in doing so.

"We've studied a lot more this week, really focused a lot on the defense," junior lineman Jon Boostrom said. "We've worked on getting off the blocks, breaking down and making tackles. We've seen three really good teams the last 3 weeks, and we should be ready to go Friday night."

After starting the season strong, the Rockets have struggled with the start of Big Northern West play. Rock Falls allowed just 28 points in the first two games, but have given up 48, 57 and 61 points to Lutheran, Byron and Winnebago in Weeks 3-5.
