STERLING – Karen J. Habben, 68, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was a homemaker.

Karen was born Dec. 21, 1943, in Sterling, the daughter of Edwin and Evelyn (Forehand) Gronis. She married Neal G. Habben on March 6, 1965, in Sterling. She was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling.

Karen was a fun-loving wife, mother and grandma who lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh. She was always ready to give and receive a hug from all whom she touched. She loved animals, and was very proud that she rescued five dogs from animal shelters over the years.
