Chicago musicians ratify new contract
CHICAGO (AP) – Musicians at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra have ratified a new three-year contract after going on strike.
Symphony officials say the musicians ratified the contract Tuesday morning. The symphony and the Chicago Federation of Musicians reached a tentative agreement on Monday evening. Details of the agreement weren’t provided. The symphony association’s board must also ratify the contract.
Musicians went on strike Saturday, forcing the cancelation of a performance. There were differences over wages and health care costs.
