Leroy H. ‘Buzz’ Fisher

STERLING – Leroy H. “Buzz” Fisher, 93, of Sterling, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born Nov. 8, 1918, south of Rock Falls, the son of Herbert Leroy and Helen (Robinson) Fisher. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army during the Battle of the Bulge. He married Jane Devine on July 8, 1961, in Sterling. She died Nov. 20, 2001.

Leroy was a retired truck driver, having last driven for General Cartage in Rock Falls. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, where he had been very active at church and related activities. Leroy enjoyed stock car racing and sports.
