POLO – Leonard J. Baumann, 90, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was a lifelong farmer.

Leonard was born June 5, 1922, in West Chicago, the son of Peter and Margaret (Theis) Baumann. He married Joanne Stemple on Jan. 21, 1950, in Aurora. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Polo.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Susan (Charles) Brunner of Washington, Ill., Nancy (Tim) Butcher of Phoenix and Cindy (Ryan) Methieu of Freeport; sons, Jack (Patty) Baumann of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Mike (Donna) Baumann of Polo; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Polo. Arrangements were handled by Polo Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
