James C. Hird

POLO – James C. Hird, 84, of Polo, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was a pressman for Kable Printing in Mount Morris.

James was born March 8, 1928, in Mount Morris, the son of George and Florence (Schilling) Hird. He married Ruhamah Davis on Dec. 10, 1949, in Oregon. She preceded him in death in 1999.

Survivors include his daughters, Gretchen Gilbert of Forreston, Sarah Hird of Polo and Christine Forte of Santa Barbara, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
