Corner Treasures and Treats co-owner Anne Davis said Tuesday that she and her husband, John Davis, plan to close their shop, which has been open 3 years, because of a lack of business in a slow economy.

The Davises own the building at 1016 Fourth St., which they plan to sell.

They have not set a closing date for the gift and ice cream shop; it depends on the sale of their inventory, she said.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Cousin’s Subs and Freezer’s Ice Cream, 1510 10th Ave., which opened in 2000, has been closed since Monday, according to the Clinton Herald. Its owners also cite a lack of business, the report said.
