Column: Decision not to develop questionable
STERLING – I read with interest a recent front page article titled “A developing debate” that took a close look at the decision by the Oregon City Council not to pursue a development plan for the city.
The article featured opinions from members on both sides of the debate. Some, including Mayor Tom Stone, oppose development. He said people like Oregon the way it is.
Others, including a minority of council members, wanted to make way for the possibility of new development in downtown Oregon.
