High school football: Rock Falls run over by Winnebago
WINNEBAGO – Rock Falls has been a potent offensive machine most of the 2012 season.
The Rockets got a dose of their own medicine Friday night in a 61-26 road loss to Winnebago. The Indians racked up 550 yards of offense, 426 of them on the ground, on their way to a win that had a mercy-rule clock in use the last 7 minutes.
Winnebago (4-1, 2-1 Big Northern West) scored on nine of its 11 offensive possessions, not including the last one that ended with a kneel-down deep in Rock Falls territory. It left Rockets’ coach Jay Mammosser grasping for answers.
