Dukes rally to beat Ottawa at home
Dixon’s comeback kids
DIXON – Brandon Bass didn't even mean it to be a shot, but he'll certainly take the very happy accident.
The Dixon senior scored the winning goal with 7:22 left in the match Thursday to lift the Dukes to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over NIB-12 West foe Ottawa Pirates.
Bass won a battle for the ball on the right side of the field, then lofted a lob shot toward the Ottawa goal. The ball floated above the outstretched arm of goalkeeper Blake Adair and into the upper lefthand corner of the net to break a 1-1 tie.
