Obama says end of teachers strike is welcomed
CHICAGO (AP) — President Barack Obama is welcoming the end of a seven-day teachers strike in his hometown.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said Wednesday that Obama "welcomes resolution to the dispute" and that Chicago children have returned to class.
About 350,000 students are in school after a teacher walkout over contract negotiations.
