Sauk Valley Community College’s Single Parent Committee would like to thank these restaurants for participating in the SVCC Summer Lunch Program: Powerhouse BBQ, Oregon; Culvers, Dixon; Subway, Sterling; Cobblestone Ice Cream and Deli, Sterling; Mama Cimino’s, Dixon; Panda, Dixon; Dairy Mart, Sterling; Angelo’s, Sterling; Pizza Hut, Rock Falls; Sow Bellies, Dixon; and Buffalo Wild Wings, Sterling.

With their support, our committee was able to raise more than $850 to put toward the single parent scholarship offered to SVCC students every fall and spring semester.

The SVCC Single Parent Committee raises funds (ranging between $2,000 and $4,000) through activities such as the summer lunch program, child fair food stand and holiday raffle and baskets sales. The money goes to support single parent students with expenses while they attend SVCC.

The committee invites any SVCC single parent student to submit an application for the 2012 fall semester by Oct. 15.
