Annual parade to benefit animals

STERLING – Tuff Dog Bakery’s annual pet parade and costume contest will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at Dale Park at Locust and Second Streets.

Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $5. Proceeds will be donated to Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Rock Falls.

Contestants will receive a gift bag and doggie bandana. The first 20 to register also will receive a premium gift bag and bandana.

Categories are best in show, scariest, funniest and best homemade costume.

Snacks and beverages will be sold.
