Dixon City Council divided on fees

Group OKs waiver for Dixon Junior Dukes’ water bill

DIXON – Divided votes are a relatively unusual event at Dixon City Council meetings, but it was by a narrow 3-2 vote that the council OK’d a one-time waiver for Dixon Junior Dukes’ water bill.

The council also approved a 3 percent raise for non-union personnel, a union agreement with a matching raise, and a special-use permit for Dixon’s Habitat for Humanity – all unanimously.

The request for a waiver came, council members said, because the unusually dry summer meant it would take a lot of water to establish the new fields off Brinton Avenue.
