DIXON – Equine enthusiasts clamoring to buy one of Rita Crundwell’s prized quarter horses soon will make their way into town “fast and furiously,” one auctioneer said.

That’s a good thing, said Tim Jennings, co-owner of Professional Auction Service Inc., the Virginia-based company tasked with selling off her herd of 401 horses.

“I don’t think there’s a hotel room that hasn’t been had,” he said with a chuckle. “Everything we do is driven by a single purpose – to sell the horses for the most we can. The more people we have, the merrier.”
