City still waiting to start recouping losses
DIXON – A recent sale of one-fifth of the horses owned by former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell netted more than $1.6 million.
However, the city won’t see a dime of it even if Crundwell is convicted.
The cost of caring for her entire herd of more than 400 horses by the U.S. Marshals Service has swelled to roughly $1.354 million between May and August. That expense will be covered by net proceeds.
