‘Board shut door on us,’ Amboy mayor says
County rejects city's funding after late request for $7,000
DIXON – The Lee County Board rejected the city of Amboy’s request for money to help fund its community building.
The mayor responded later by saying the county is “shutting the door on us.”
Last year, Amboy was one of nine agencies that got part of a $100,000 senior tax levy – an annual process. All but Amboy submitted a request for next fiscal year.
