GOP: Quinn delaying checks of Medicaid eligibility
SPRINGFIELD (AP) — Republican leaders accuse the Quinn administration of dragging its feet on a new effort to make sure Medicaid goes only to people who qualify. But they also acknowledge the governor has hit a key target date.
Illinois wants to keep a closer eye on Medicaid to ensure the health care program is only used by people who meet eligibility requirements. Gov. Pat Quinn was given 90 days to hire a company to conduct the reviews.
Quinn met that deadline but says the company needs three months of preparation before it starts.
