Painting the town, one square at a time
Thousands turn out for annual art festival
MORRISON – As long as Dad helped out, 3-year-old Alex Vandermyde’s rendition of Captain America’s shield stayed in the lines.
But as soon as Dad got distracted, Alex was swirling together his red, white and blue paint, said his grandmother, Clarita Vandermyde.
Alex was only one of Clarita’s grandchildren decorating a 5-square-foot patch of pavement in downtown Morrison during Paint the Town, a weekend festival combining street art and live music.
