Sterling throttles Ottawa in rain, wind
No worries for Golden Warriors
STERLING – It was all kinds of miserable at Roscoe Eades Stadium on Thursday night. Windy. Rainy. And the Ottawa soccer team had just scored a fortuitous goal to seize an early lead over Sterling.
It was the only bona fide scoring chance the Pirates would enjoy.
The Golden Warriors scored about a minute later and rattled off three tallies in less than 10 minutes en route to a 9-2 Northern Illinois Big 12 West victory on their slick home pitch.
