DIXON – Rodney Smiley, 71, of Dixon, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at his home. Rodney was active in the National Guard and later was employed by Henry Pratt in Dixon, retiring in 2006. 

Rodney was born July 18, 1941, in Amboy, the son of Robert Howard and Anna I. (Houfman) Smiley. He married Doris Lowe on Nov. 30, 1961, in Dixon. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dixon.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth Ann Smiley of Mendota and Roberta Sue (Bill) Edwards of Champaign; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
