Dixon woman charged with murder
Prosecutors decline to say why charges were upgraded
DIXON – A Dixon woman charged with severely injuring her 7-year-old stepson in 2010 now is charged in the boy's death.
Tiffany D. Fassler, 36, was charged Thursday afternoon with a single count of first-degree murder, more than 10 months after Colton Fassler died in a Rockford hospital.
Fassler, who was wanted on a $500,000 warrant, turned herself in to the Lee County Jail about 6:10 p.m.
