Dixon hopes to build program like Morris
Striving for Redskins’ success
The fact of the matter is that when the Morris Redskins football team rolls into Dixon on Friday, the Dukes will be getting a chance to see what could be.
Morris (3-0) is the top-ranked team Class 5A, and the program has three state titles and 29 playoff appearances to its name.
"It's a very important game for us," Dixon coach Dave Smith said at practice Wednesday. "It's a chance for our kids to see where we want to be. Morris is a top-ranked team for a reason. They do things the right way. They've consistently made the playoffs each year going back to the 1970s. That's where we want to be.
