Annual rural economic workshop series to be offered in Mount Carroll

The eXtension Entrepreneurship Webinar Series will start with Establishing a Microenterprise Lending Program.

The session will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 11 in the board room at Carroll County Farm Bureau, 811 S. Clay St.

Nancy Bowen, Ohio State University Extension, and Julie Miller, Wright State University Business Enterprise Center, will be the presenters.

The presentation will be a “how to” on development of a micro-lending program that helps to level the playing field for entry into business ownership, while strengthening rural economies.

Social Networking to Promote Local Economies, the second in the series, will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at Whiteside County Farm Bureau, 100 E. Knox St., Morrison.

Casey Hoy, professor and Kellogg Endowed chairwoman in agricultural ecosystems management at Ohio State University, will be the speaker.

This presentation will describe the work of connecting entrepreneurs along supply chains leading to collaborative business networks that improve agroecosystem health.
