Initial horse sale worth $1M
Auction of 41 additional horses closes today
DIXON – It’s a far cry from $53 million, but some of Rita Crundwell’s prized quarter horses sold for a pretty penny Tuesday.
By 8:15 p.m., the online sale of 48 of Crundwell’s herd of 401 horses had netted nearly $1.069 million.
That’s an average of $28,121.05 per horse, said Tim Jennings, co-owner of Professional Auction Services Inc, the Round Hill, Va., company tasked with selling the horses.
