Constitution rally Sunday
“We the people” starts our U.S. Constitution, which turns 225 years old on Sept. 17.
It is absolutely amazing how our nation’s founders, so many years ago, were able to put together such an important document that would stand the tests of time. Those people came from varied backgrounds, but rarely, if ever, did they disagree about their final objective or basic convictions. Their disagreements came over the particulars.
The Constitution they designed was to protect us from the government. It’s best to not rely on the government because what the government gives us, it can easily take away. The power of the government should be limited. The Constitution set up checks and balances to make sure no one branch would be more powerful than the other.
