Newman boys win tight Twin Cities meet in Rock Falls
True character
ROCK FALLS – Before Tuesday evening’s boys race at the annual Twin Cities cross country meet at Centennial Park, Newman coach Val Gassman called it a “character race.”
Well, the Comets showed some pretty strong character.
Newman won the team title for just the third time in Gassman’s 22 years as coach, scoring 36 points to beat the Rock Falls Rockets (40 points) and Sterling Golden Warriors (45).
