No arrests yet in stabbing of 28-year-old Sterling man
Sheriff seeking phone footage, information
STERLING – No arrests had been made as of Monday in a stabbing that occurred around midnight Saturday in street brawl involving 75 to 100 people in the parking lot of a West End restaurant.
A 28-year-old Sterling man was stabbed in the abdomen and the back and underwent surgery at CGH Medical Center. His brother was cut in the arm. Neither were at the hospital Monday, a CGH spokeswoman said.
Whiteside County Sheriff Kelly Wilhelmi said up to a half dozen people may have shot footage of the melee, and even the stabbing, on their phones, and he’s asking them to step up and help investigators.
