DIXON – LeRoy W. Smith, 91, of Dixon, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was a welder at Henry Pratt Co. in Dixon, retiring April 7, 1986.

LeRoy was born March 2, 1921, in West Brooklyn, the son of George and Hattie May (Eberly) Smith. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Philippines and Hawaii. He married Leona Malston in June 1969. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Survivors include one son, Ron (Annette) Smith of Dixon; three daughters, Pam Martinez, Deb (Chuck) Boettner and Connie Morey, all of Michigan; five stepdaughters, Sue Anderson, Sandy Anderson, Carol Bushman and Lori Davis, all of Dixon, and Debbie Hyde of Rochelle; 20 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
