It does matter who produced those uniforms
I waited for a reply. Now it’s time to respond to “Mr. Springfield,” Scott Reeder with Illinois Statehouse News, on his July 27 column titled “‘Buy American’ really means ‘buy union’ to some” regarding his opinion about the uniforms for our Olympians. The fact they were made in China does matter.
Why? Because it’s not the Chinese paying for these guys to go to London and compete with other countries, including China. Whether they were made by union or nonunion isn’t as important as whether they were made by people in China, who we know aren’t union people but slaves of the Communist government. Sounds like a sweatshop to me, which is illegal in this country.
Now to get back to who is paying for this. It’s people in this country plus corporations. Don’t you think maybe one of those companies might have liked to have made them, union or not?
