Lavada B. Eckhardt

LEE CENTER – Lavada B. Eckhardt, 97, of Lee Center, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab Center following an illness.

She was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Frank and Maude (Beale) Claybourn.

She married Henry Eckhardt in Nashville, Ill., on Oct. 5, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1990.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Eckhardt of Lee Center and Reginald (Patricia) Eckhardt of Dacono, Colo; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Claybourn of Pittsfield and Bob Claybourn of Mount Vernon.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Carpenter, on Aug. 27, 1995; one sister, Lorena Lane; and four brothers, Clinton, Harley Joseph, Charles Devine, and William Claybourn.

There is no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Jack Briggs, pastor of Lee Center Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center.
