DIXON – Ronald E. Guntle, 83, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Heritage Square in Dixon. He was a lifelong farmer in the Lee County area.

Ronald was born Dec. 14, 1928, at CGH Hospital in Sterling, the son of Lowell E. and Edna (Bowlins) Guntle. He married Gladys Hackbarth on Aug. 13, 1966, in Dixon. He loved boating, fishing and ice fishing. Ron enjoyed metal detecting with his best friend, Lawrence Reaver. He spent many hours at the Dome Roller Rink and Pines Roller Rink during his lifetime.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Guntle, and one brother, Kenneth Guntle, both of Dixon; two cousins, Jean Maree Jennings of Santa Ynez, Calif., and Elsie Platt of Coolidge, Ariz.; and a host of friends.
