Insurance agent hit by car, dies
OREGON – An Oregon insurance agent died Tuesday from injuries he suffered 2 days earlier when he was struck by a car while leaving Sunday morning church services.
Paul P. Kaczmarzyk, 82, was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, where he was airlifted after the accident on state Route 2 in front of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Kaczmarzyk was walking west across Route 2 around 10:30 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound car driven by Nathaniel S. Bates, 20, of Rockford, police Chief Darin DeHaan said.
