Smart eating starts at home
Despite the popularity of television cooking shows, there seem to be fewer and fewer people who can and will cook for themselves. I’m not suggesting that you should never eat out, but there are very good reasons why you should cook at least some of your own meals.
Many restaurant meals, whether fast food or sit-down, contain way too much fat and sodium. Portion sizes are so large they may provide more calories than most people need for an entire day. In some restaurants, it is difficult to find a vegetable other than iceberg lettuce, or any fresh fruit, or whole grains.
