Judge: FBI report no alibi in 1957 slaying case
SYCAMORE (AP) — A judge says a Seattle man charged in the 1957 kidnapping and slaying of a 7-year-old Illinois girl can't use old FBI records to bolster his alibi.
Lawyers for Jack McCullough say FBI records show that a military recruiter said McCullough was in Chicago taking a physical the day Maria Ridulph disappeared from the small town of Sycamore.
The (DeKalb) Daily Chronicle reported Tuesday that Kane County Associate Jude James Hallock ruled the records were based on hearsay rather than firsthand observations from police officers.
