Latest 'knocks and talk' detail results in arrests

STERLING – The latest round of "house calls" by Sterling police led to misdemeanor charges involving marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Sterling officers knocked on the doors of 11 homes Thursday evening as part of the fourth round of the “knocks and talk” program, in which officers knock on the doors of suspected drug houses and ask the occupants’ permission to search the home.

Of those 11 homes, occupants of three gave permission, two did not, one was vacant, and no one answered the door at five. One of the voluntary searches resulted in city ordinance violations.
