Benefit Saturday for woman fighting cancer

MOUNT MORRIS – A benefit for a Mount Morris woman with cancer will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge, 101 Moose Drive.

Christa Heitter was diagnosed in June. She is facing surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Proceeds will help to defray medical costs.

Admission is by donation. A bags tournament will start at 5:30 p.m., with registration from 5 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $20 a team.

There will be children’s activities including bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, and a playground. An interactive clown performance starts at 5:30 p.m.

There also will be a live and silent auction. The live auction begins at 9 p.m., and includes a 1-week getaway package, a push mower, porch swing, a full hog, and bag boards among other items.

Food will be served throughout the evening, prizes will be given away, and a DJ will provide music for dancing.

In addition, the Heitter Special Fund has been established at Stillman Valley Bank in Oregon. Make checks payable to the Christa Heitter Benefit.
