MORRISON – Morrison residents Brad and Tanya Tregloan soon will be delivering two great American classics: pizza and a movie.

The owners of Movie Magic are opening Stars, a dine-in or delivery pizzeria at 633 E. Lincolnway, next door to their video rental store.

They plan to hire 20 to 25 full-time employees, and open in about 2 weeks, Brad said Tuesday.

Deep-dish, thin- and medium-crust pizzas, sandwiches, and 32 flavors of Ashby's ice cream will be offered.

There will be a pizza buffet and salad bar around lunchtime.

Alcohol will not be served: Stars is striving for a "family-type atmosphere," he said.

The restaurant will have a "big-city look" and a movie theme, he said. Light comes from wall fixtures instead of overhead fluorescent lights, and lots of artwork decorates the walls.

Pizza and movies will be delivered in Morrison and in a 2- to 3-mile radius outside city limits without charging a fee.

Hours are not yet finalized: Stars will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, and likely will stay open until midnight on weekends, Brad said.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
